Labor Express for 2-25-13
This is the full 2-25-13 episode of the Labor Express Radio program.
Since the Honduran coup in 2009, the first successful attempt of the right wing to overturn a decade and a half of democratic transformation in Latin America by force, we have been updating you on developments in that country, especially the deteriorating human rights situation. On today’s program I will air an interview with Honduran LGBT activist Jose Palacios. The LGBT community has been one of the communities, along with peasants, teachers and journalist most under attack in post coup Honduras.
Here in Chicago few social struggles are more important right now than the growing fight back against public school closings. Thousands of parents, students, teachers and community members have been pouring into community meetings to protest a possible 129 school closings next school year. We will bring you coverage of one of those hearings from our friends at Labor Beat TV.
